I collect collage material from all over, especially when I'm traveling, I also have lots of notes, cards, and kid stuff that I use under my paintings. Many layers go down before I paint, then the fun begins. I love to cut, peel, scratch and excavate to see what I can find, it's amazing what comes thru. I love the texture of a peeling weathered wall and these tell a marvelous story.
